Terms of Use

1. Acceptance
These Terms govern your use of the Sharp mobile application. By downloading or using Sharp, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. What Sharp Is
Sharp is a vocabulary and general-knowledge training app. It provides a daily word, short knowledge modules, spaced-repetition practice, and a score derived from your answers — a Verbal IQ figure, a rank, and a Knowledge Grade Level.
The scores Sharp produces are a training signal, not a clinical or diagnostic assessment. Sharp is not a validated psychometric instrument. It is not administered, supervised, or interpreted by a qualified professional, and it is not a substitute for a professionally administered IQ, cognitive, educational, or medical assessment.
Do not rely on a Sharp score for diagnosis, clinical decisions, employment screening, academic placement, or any similar purpose. Sharp makes no representation that using the App will produce any particular outcome.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Sharp, and you must be able to form a binding contract where you live.
4. Your Account
You may begin using Sharp without an account. If you create one, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised.
You can delete your account at any time from inside the App: Settings → Account → Delete everything. Deletion is immediate and permanently removes your learning data.
5. Subscriptions, Trials & Billing
Sharp offers auto-renewable subscriptions that unlock its paid features. All purchases are made through the Apple App Store and are billed to your Apple ID.
- Free trials. Where a free trial is offered, your subscription begins automatically and your Apple ID is charged at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. The price and duration are shown before you purchase.
- Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your Apple ID is charged within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Managing and cancelling. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings, or from the App at Settings → Manage or cancel, which opens those settings. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.
- Unused trial time. If you buy a subscription during a free trial, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited.
- Refunds. Purchases are handled by the App Store and are subject to Apple's refund policies. We do not separately control store refunds.
- Price changes. If we change a subscription price, Apple will notify you and your consent will be obtained where required before the change takes effect.
Applicable Apple terms, including the standard Apple Media Services Terms and the Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), also govern subscriptions purchased through the App Store. The standard EULA is available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or question bank of the App; to interfere with its operation or security; to access it by automated means; to resell or redistribute its content; or to use it unlawfully.
7. Intellectual Property
The App, its content, questions, scoring method, design, and trademarks are owned by us or our licensors. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own non-commercial purposes. No other rights are granted.
8. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content is accurate or complete.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account from within it. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the App. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continuing to use Sharp after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at our principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing here deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence.
